A conversion is a target activity that you define.
Conversion tracking can be used to identify profitable activities on the website, such as purchases, registrations, or filling out a form.
Requirements for setting up conversion tracking:
- Your website must include the conversion tracking code, called the LinkedIn Insight tag.
Setting up the LinkedIn Insight tag on your website:
- Log into your LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
- If you manage different accounts in your Campaign Manager, select the one for which you need to set up conversion tracking.
Under Account Assets in the top navigation bar, click Insight Tag.
3. Click Install my Insight Tag.
4. There are several options to install the tag.
You can copy the code under I will install the tag myself. This must be pasted into the global footer of the website, just above the HTML <body> tag.
Under I will send the tag to a developer you can send yourself an email with installation instructions. You can then forward this to someone who will do the installation for you.
Under I will use a tag manager you can copy the LinkedIn partner ID and go directly to the installation in your tag manager. Here you can find more detailed instructions for the different tag managers.
5. once you have installed the Insight tag, you should soon see the domain you installed it on under the Tagged domains The domain will show up in the overview once a LinkedIn user has visited it after the tag installation. Depending on how much website traffic your page gets, this can take up to 24 hours.
